Melbourne, Australia -
The 2016 Formula 1 season kicked off yesterday with what will be known as a very exciting race. With a start that was as surprising as it was fast, both Ferraris advanced into P1 and P2, after starting in the third and fourth positions on the grid. Later, what appeared to be a horrific crash involving McLaren driver, Fernando Alonso, and Hass driver, Esteban Gutiérrez, when Alonso went air born sending his car cartwheeling towards the wall. In what can only be described as a miracle, Alonso got out of the car under his own power and walked away.
Nico Rosberg took the win, followed by his teammate, Lewis Hamilton, in an all-too-familiar Mercedes one-two finish. However, the real victory came in the form of Haas driver Roman Gosjean's 6th place result, scoring the new, US-based team's first points in their premiere race - quite the result, indeed. Needless to say, the season is already off to an interesting start, and we're itching to witness Malaysia's result in just 12 days time. Stay tuned!
